Mercy Ette

Mercy Ette is a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Leeds, UK. Her research interests are interdisciplinary and focus on two broad areas. The first is the intersection of journalism and politics and the second is gender, conflict/terrorism and politics, in which she examines how gender overlaps with various aspects of socio-cultural and political discrimination.

Mercy Ette is a Visiting Research Fellow in the School of Performance and Cultural Industries, University of Leeds, UK, and a Visiting Research Professor at Trinity University, Lagos, Nigeria. She was previously a Fulbright Scholar at Elon University, United States. She is the author of Journalism and Politics in Nigeria: Embers of the Empire (2021). Her research outputs have also been published as book chapters and articles in peer-reviewed journals. She serves on the editorial board of the journal of Media, War & Conflict.
